What Can a Landlord Do If the Lease Period Ends and the Property is Still on Rent?

Well, if the lease period ends then your house will be sealed by the government. However you will get a warning notice at first. Now suppose you have given the property on rent. What will happen then? Well, you must have this question in your mind. Actually this can be a very serious case and there are many aspects which you will have to take into consideration if you want to solve this problem. So let us see how you will deal with the tenant?

There are many aspects which you need to keep in mind. Some of those aspects are as follows:

1. You cannot really say to the tenant that your house is on lease and the lease period is about to be over. Well, this is a very tense situation. The tenant will never agree to live in the property if he comes to know that the property is on lease. However you can take it otherwise as well. Suppose the tenant is in a hurry and he is not getting any property then he will definitely agree to live in that property. However, it is an humble advise that you should not give the property on rent if the lease period is about to be over.

At first try to make the property free hold. Generally the lease properties can be made freehold by paying some amount. This amount can be heavy as well. However, you should at first make the property freehold. If you will not make the property freehold then you will definitely be ashamed when the court officials will take evasive action against you and the tenant will be thrown out of the property.

2. Well, you can easily understand that there is no fault of the tenant. Hence, he might take action against you. You should make it clear in the tenant form that the tenant will have to leave the property before the lease period is over. However, you should not tell the tenant that the lease period is about to over. In fact there is no need of such action. Hence, you should just make sure that the tenant leave the property before the lease period is over.

So these are some of the steps which you need to take if you want to make sure that the lease period has no effect on your relationship with your tenant.
